Earned value is a generally recognised standard for project cost management. This course gives you a solid foundation for applying the technique in your own projects. Course focuses on the practical examples and exercises and includes the following elements:

- review of IPMA competence baseline and PMI's PMBOK® Guide (A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge)
- characteristics of projects and project management
- Earned Value terms and metrics
- variances, indicators and forecasted cost of completion
- requirements for project planning, breakdown and control
- project type specific considerations
- summary of planning and control tools
Target audience: project & program managers and coordinators, project portfolio managers, project team members, middle and upper level management, business controllers, analysts and experts
Working methods: lectures followed with groupwork, exercises and review questions
Prerequisites: basic project management experience or training such as 'Get started in PM' course
